Benjamin Beil
Game studies have received a lot of attention in recent years and are practiced in a multidisciplinary manner. But despite an 'iconic turn', there are hardly any approaches that explicitly deal with the imagery of computer games. Based on the diverse forms of representation of the avatar - the graphic representative of the player - Benjamin Beil tests a new approach to contemporary computer games that combines ludological and narrative aspects in an image-scientific perspective and presents the avatar as an 'interface' between space, interaction, interface and perspective .
