Juho Kuorikoski
A comprehensive history of the legendary home computer's conquest in Finland.
In 1982, the American company Commodore released a home computer called the Commodore 64, which quickly became an icon of its era.
In Finland, the "Kuusnelonen" (Sixty-Four) started to be referred to as the "Computer of the Republic" because it was sold here in greater numbers per capita than anywhere else in the world. This diminutive home computer has left its mark on all computer enthusiasts of the 80s and, in its own way, laid the foundation for Finnish IT and gaming expertise. The computer still has its own community of enthusiasts.
The "Commodore 64: The Computer of the Republic" book is part of the Finland 100 campaign's anniversary program.
