Debora Ferrari, Luca Traini
Just as David Hockney loves to challenge himself by painting his Spring on an iPad, in showcasing the wunderkammer of video games, we have aimed to transfer the digital medium into real matter: the canvas, the drawing, the installation, the sculpture.
In doing so, we believe that exhibiting game art in tangible materials allows for the interpretation of a complex medium such as video games as a bearer of multiple semantic and visual values, accessible to all in its various forms, to reflect on technological application in the era of its artistic manual(digit)ality.
In this catalog of the "Game Culture Book" series, you will find critical essays, art presentations, game art and concept art, all to testify to the great creative ferment of these video game expressions, particularly aesthetically linked to the universe of Assassin's Creed within the visual reservoir of contemporary arts.
