The third issue in a new lineup of comics based on the Killer Instinct franchise entitled Killer Instinct Special.
Chief Thunder receives a late-night transmission from his wife, Bright River, revealing six months of silence and an update on their tribe's pride in his endeavors. Orchid interrupts Thunder's meditation the next morning, attempting to motivate him to practice, but Thunder, consumed by thoughts of his missing brother Eagle, contemplates abandoning fighting altogether. Thunder shares Eagle's activist past and the mystery surrounding his disappearance after winning the Killer Instinct tournament, and Orchid's unwavering belief in their cause rekindles Thunder's determination. During meditation, Thunder envisions a battle with Fulgore, interrupted by a giant eagle, sparking doubts about Eagle's fate.
Simultaneously, the Chairman faces exclusion from an Ultratech meeting, revealing his desperate attempts to cover up secret projects from a disgruntled shareholder, Mr. Black. Orchid confronts Thunder about his lack of training, and Thunder confides in her his fear of fulfilling a vision where he dies at Fulgore's hands, joining Eagle in the afterlife. The anticipated match against Fulgore ensues, with the Chairman manipulating the android's strength. To Thunder's astonishment, the battle takes an unexpected turn when Fulgore weakens, revealing Eagle beneath the mask. Thunder, resolute in bringing his brother home, escorts Eagle from the arena, promising to reunite him with their people.
