The video game industry is global and Latin America is no exception . For more than two decades, friends, brothers or co-workers began to develop games while discovering an industry that was preparing to be the largest entertainment industry in the 21st century. In each Latin American country, history used to repeat itself: groups of teenagers learned to make video games by making mistakes and finding a way when everything seemed lost. However, persistence, passion and in some cases, luck, allowed most of them to advance and become the seed of the industry in each of their countries.
América Latina Juega travels through the region collecting chronicles and profiles of these teams, looking at those moments that were critical in the success or failure of each study. This blog on the development of Latin American games offers an opportunity to learn more about a creative industry that in these countries has remained in the shadow of others such as cinema, music or literature despite having the merits and the potential to overshadow them.
