In the fall of 1976, Warner Communications Inc, the giant conglomerate of the media and entertainment industries, bought out Atari, a small company specializing in a new form of entertainment, video games. he global affairs of Warner Communications... Emblematic of the relations between Hollywood and video games, this industrial event is nevertheless only one of the very many manifestations of the reciprocal interest between these two major fields of mass entertainment. Adaptation, inspiration, pastiche, plagiarism, criticism... The exchanges between cinema and video games have taken various and sometimes surprising forms. From the 1970s to today, Des Pixels à Hollywood retraces the common history of cinema and video games, both competitors and partners in their conquest of the public.
