Computer games have become an important part of popular culture and are increasingly the focus of scientific research. For the first time in the German-speaking world, this volume offers a broad, multidisciplinary view of this young field of research and shows how differentiated "Game Studies" have become. Media studies, pedagogy, literary studies, information theory, historical and economic approaches are taken into account. In order to make the differences and similarities in the current research landscape clear, all contributions focus on a popular game series - Silent Hill - and at the same time draw attention to computer games in general.
